Still playing in my art journal. Here's my latest page. I did struggle a little with this one for some reason. I would work on it. Leave it, come back. Work, leave, come back. I'm not even sure I like it, but working through our art is all part of the growing process right? That is why I scribbled on it..."growing through art". You may not even be able to see my scribbles in white. I am really starting to see that our art reflects our emotions at the time. Even though this page has happy colors, the process to get finished was a struggle. Just like the emotions I was having while working on this page. I was struggling through a small personal issue (nothing serious, but hard none the less), and the struggle of which way to go and how to handle the situation was definitely reflected in my art process of struggling with which way to go with the page. I am just now reflecting on that and putting the two together. Pretty darn interesting I think. Ok quit yawning...probably not be so interesting to you but I had to share. LOL
And here's a few shots of the process of the page.
Added masking tape, a doily, and white gesso to tone the colors down.
And here's the finished page again. I thought I took more "in the process" photos, but I guess I struggled with that too. On the finished page I added vintage paper, more stenciling, circles with paint, more white gesso, drippy liquitex acrylic ink (love that stuff), and details with white and black pens.
Have you been creative this week? Are you learning from your creative process? I would love to see what you are doing. Feel free to link up in the comments and share your projects and stories.
